Visakhapatnam: VEDANTA's Vizag General Cargo Berth (VGCB) has been conferred with the prestigious 'Greentech effective safety culture award-2021' for achievements in effective safety culture. Safety practices at Vedanta's VGCB were evaluated and recognised by an independent panel of experts for Greentech Foundation awards. Greentech awards were presented at a function held at Sonamarg (J&K)
Vedanta's VGCB is working in committed manner towards adoption of best in class safe and sustainable business practices meeting the highest standards. The project 'mechanisation of general cargo berth' for coal handling at the Visakhapatnam Port is an eco-friendly facility. Also a well-designed dust suppression system with atomised water sprinkler to eliminate dust is yet another step adopted at VGCB for conservation of environment.
